Rosemount Nursery
Tucked into the hills behind Nambour, this Sunshine Coast fixture has been supplying local gardens since 1996 — long enough to have watched several generations of backyard makeovers come and go. It's a family concern, and the sort of place where the range reflects decades of paying attention to what actually thrives here: natives grown alongside exotics and tropicals, fruit trees, cacti and succulents, climbers and groundcovers, hedging stock, and the cottage seedlings and veggie punnets that keep weekend gardeners busy. A good deal of what's for sale is propagated on-site, meaning stock arrives pre-adapted to the coast's particular mix of humidity, sandy soils and subtropical downpours rather than trucked in from somewhere with a different climate altogether. Beyond the plants, the nursery has built a sideline as something of a bonsai and pot specialist, with an assortment of outdoor planters — Atlantis and Modstone ranges among them — alongside garden ornaments, hanging baskets and the fertilisers and mulches needed to keep everything alive once it's home. The team, by their own account, leans on hands-on knowledge rather than a script, offering the kind of advice that comes from actually growing the stock they sell. Worth the short detour from Maroochydore if you want plants chosen for this particular patch of Queensland, not a generic list.
