The Red Mill Store

Set in an 1896 heritage building on Stirling Street that has served over its life as an ironworks, foundry, bakery and gallery, this is a tightly curated store of furniture, homewares, gifts, pottery, jewellery and artwork chosen for being classic, thoughtful and made to last. The emphasis falls on local makers rather than mass-market stock, and Studio Milton works from within the space, crafting bespoke pieces from Western Australian native hardwoods. Open Wednesday to Saturday, it rewards a slow browse and reads as much as a small gallery of regional craft as a shop, a rare independent retail room in a town where homewares usually mean the chains.
