The Bookish Burrow
An independent bookshop on Wood Street in the city heart, stocking new titles across romance, fantasy, horror, young adult and classics alongside second-hand finds. The shelves are rounded out with bookish extras such as book sleeves, dust jackets, e-reader accessories, pins and apparel, and the shop keeps a regular calendar of community events. Locally and independently owned from a single Mackay shopfront, it trades Monday to Saturday and sells online as well. A recent arrival to a stretch of Wood Street drawing several small independent traders, it fills a gap left as chain bookselling in Mackay retreated to the shopping-centre format.
