Vincenzo Salpietro Snr and his son Charlie converted a Mount Lawley grocery and beer store into a dedicated liquor retailer in 1974, and the business has stayed in family hands since — Charlie's grandson Vince joined in the late 1990s and has since opened sister stores in Nedlands and Ardross.
